. . . and why not Gift Aid your membership fee? Gift Aid is a UK tax relief scheme that allows charities to reclaim an extra 25p in tax for every £1 donated by UK taxpayers, effectively increasing the value of donations by 25% at no extra cost to the donor.
How it works:
When you donate to a charity and tick the Gift Aid box (or make a Gift Aid declaration), the charity can claim back the basic rate of tax (20%) on your donation from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC).
Benefits for charities:
This means that for every £10 you donate, the charity receives £12.50, making it a significant way to boost their income and the impact of donations.
No extra cost for donors:
Gift Aid doesn't cost you anything; the money comes from the tax you've already paid.
Download the Gift Aid form here and forward to the society with your application.
