    This coming Thursday will be the first screening of a film and the launch of a full length book about Acorn Films, a small group who recorded events and happenings in Chingford that caught their attention. Two very creative people, Linda McDonald Cairns and Theresa Reynolds, have made something exceptional in their chosen media forms. They could only have done so with the help of a good number of those who have grown up, lived, worked and helped others in the area. David Piggott is no longer with us other than in vivid memory. Tim Emblem-English regularly attends meetings of Chingford Historical Society and still gives essential assistance in the background as he did for Acorn Films for most of the unit’s life.

    There are many many names in Theresa’s book. She and Linda McDonald Cairns wish to thank Barbara Wilson who voices the commentary on the film and Jacky Logan who is a leading figure in CADOS the Chingford Amateur Dramatic and Operatic Society, in the management of Mornington Hall by Chingford Green and in a number of other local activities.
