Your membership gives free entrance to all of our regular meetings, priority booking for our coach outings (they are very popular!), favourable prices for our local history books and full voting rights at our AGM. A biannual newsletter is available for collecting at our meetings and the Editor will be pleased to consider articles or letters from members.

Cost of membership has remained steady at £5 for some years but we now find it necessary to make an increase to £8, taking into effect in October 2005. The proposal for this was carried by a clear majority of members at our last Annual General Meeting.

However we are cognisant of the fact that there are members who are seldom able to attend our lecture meetings, primarily because they are living away from Chingford. We therefore have created an associate grade of membership for them, which will stay at £5. The only difference will be that they will not have free entry to lectures, although should they be able to come, they would be very welcome by paying the usual visitors fee (£2.0). Arrangements can be made for the Newsletters to be sent by post.

The membership year starts in October at the first of our winter meetings. Member's fees are due then but you can pay or join at any meeting or by post to the Membership Secretary:
